Pyrazosulfuron: the gentle guardian in rice fields
Pyrazosulfuron, as a selective sulfonylurea herbicide, is known for its high efficiency, low toxicity, and environmental friendliness, and is especially popular in rice cultivation. It can be absorbed by the roots, stems and leaves of weeds, and rapidly conducts to the whole plant, blocking the biosynthesis of amino acids by inhibiting the activity of acetolactate synthase in weeds, and eventually causing the growth of weeds to stop and wither and die. However, pyrazosulfuron needs to be used with caution. Different from Pyrazosulfuron, dichloroquinolinic acid belongs to quinoline carboxylic acid herbicides, which mainly inhibits the synthesis and transportation of growth hormone in weeds, leading to deformation of weed tissues, growth stagnation and death. It has excellent control effect on weeds in rice fields, such as barnyard grass, and has fast action speed and long duration of efficacy, so it is one of the important tools for weed control in rice fields.
However, the use of dichloroquinolinic acid is also accompanied by risks. Firstly, it has a certain residual effect on the soil, which may affect the growth of sensitive crops such as tobacco and Solanaceae, so the dosage and application time should be strictly controlled. Secondly, long-term reliance on dichloroquinolinic acid for weed control may also lead to the emergence of weed resistance, resulting in a gradual decline in the effectiveness of weed control.
